Meet Mrs. Mitchell

I have been a media specialist for 14 years! I was blessed to start my career in South Carolina after earning my Masters from USC. Then we moved to Georgia where I continued at the elementary level. Now I am at CMS as of the fall of 2021. CMS is my first job as a middle school media specialist. Wherever I am, though, I love coming to work to learn!

I have an outstanding husband and am the proud mother of two sweet little girls. My husband or myself love reading and listening to books with our girls!

You should know that I am a dream big kind of librarian! I love working hard alongside teachers and students to make dreams realities. In 2014 we brought Jan Brett to the first school I worked with after winning an international contest! What made it more special is that students displayed their artwork alongside this famous author and illustrator's work in an actual museum. Why not DREAM BIG!!!

At my last school we enjoyed meeting multiple authors, illustrators, and storytellers like, Peggy Eddleman, Shanda McCloskey,  Tim Lowry, Jerry Pallotta, John David Anderson, and Bonnie Clark. In October of 2023, thanks to a grant from the TN Arts Commission, I was able to bring in Brad Montague for our CMS kids!
