Harris Middle School Baseball Fall After Strong Showing By TMS Wildcats - Varsity

#HarrisMiddleSchool Baseball had trouble keeping up with TMS Wildcats - Varsity in a 12-3 loss on Tuesday.
TMS Wildcats - Varsity got on the board in the top of the first inning after Ray singled, scoring one run, Pogue doubled, scoring two runs, and Bunch singled, scoring two runs.
TMS Wildcats - Varsity added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Ray singled to center field, Brinkley doubled down the left field line, and Bunn singled to center field, each scoring one run.
A fly out by Ray extended the TMS Wildcats - Varsity lead to 9-1 in the top of the third inning.
Chasen McMillian started the game for #HMS Baseball. The hurler gave up three hits and five runs over one inning, striking out one and walking two.
Tobin Hathcock, Canyon Todd, Omar Garcia, and Knox Bowman each collected one hit for Harris Middle School Baseball. Todd and Garcia each drove in one run for Harris Middle School Baseball. Jake Dunnavant paced Harris Middle School Baseball with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Harris Middle School Baseball turned one double play in the game.

#SCHS Tennis will be hosting tryouts for the 2026-2027 team on Friday, May 22, from 12 noon to 1pm at the Shelbyville Recreational Center. Students interested in trying out must have a sports physical dated after April 15, 2026.
This tryout is for both boys and girls who will be attending SCHS in the fall of 2026 or home school students who are zoned for SCHS.

#HarrisMiddleSchool volleyball will be conducting tryouts on Wednesday, May 20 and Friday May 22.
Tryouts will go as follows:
6th graders from 5pm-6:15pm
7th graders from 6:20pm-7:35pm
8th graders from 7:45pm-9pm
Students must have a sports physical dated April 15, 2026 or later.
These tryouts are open to incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th graders who attend #HMS, Thomas Magnet, Liberty Middle or any home school students zoned for those schools.

#HarrisMiddleSchool defeated Battle Creek by a score of 3-1 in The semi-finals of the CTC Playoffs.
#HMS had one goal each from Atzel Fernandez, Junior Palacios, and Ramiro Rodriguez.
The Eagles will play in the CTC Championship Game in the SCHS Football Stadium on Thursday, April 30 at 6pm.

Harris Middle School Baseball Trounce Franklin Co.

#HarrisMiddleSchool Baseball easily dispatched Franklin Co on Monday at Shelbyville Central High School, 10-0.
#HMS Baseball got on the board in the second inning after Mason Carney singled, scoring one run.
Harris Middle School Baseball added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Chasen McMillian doubled down the left field line, and Franklin Co committed an error, each scoring one run.
Carney led things off on the hill for Harris Middle School Baseball. The right-handed pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over six innings, striking out seven and walking one. Declan Kelley started the game for Franklin Co. The starter surrendered three hits and three runs over three innings, striking out one and walking two.
Tobin Hathcock and Knox Bowman each collected two hits for Harris Middle School Baseball. Omar Garcia and McMillian each drove in two runs for Harris Middle School Baseball. Harris Middle School Baseball had patience at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game. Bowman and Trace Cooke led the team with two walks each. Bowman stole four bases. Harris Middle School Baseball ran wild on the base paths, accumulating seven stolen bases for the game. Harris Middle School Baseball turned one double play in the game.

Several sports teams at #ShelbyvilleCentralHighSchool are preparing to host tryouts for their teams for the 2026-2027 school year. SCHS Golf will will have an interest meeting on Tuesday, April 28 at 5pm in the SCHS Cafeteria.
SCHS Football will be hosting a Parent Meeting on Monday, May 4 at 6pm in the Film Room of the Field House.
SCHS Baseball will be hosting tryouts on Friday, May 22 from 12pm-2:30pm and Saturday, May 23 from 10am-12:30pm. Both days will be at the SCHS Baseball Field. Those trying out will need to bring full gear, including catchers, and you must compete both days.
